A Place Called Home
In 2016, David Ambroz was named a White House “Champion of Change for Foster Care Youth” by Barack Obama. David will share his personal story of resilience as he navigated a parent with mental illness, homelessness, and the foster care system.

Jamie Freeney, DrPH, MPH
A dedicated public health practitioner, Dr. Freeny has spent the past 15 years working through multiple avenues to improve the health and well-being of children and adolescents. She has educated and advocated for adolescent health in a healthcare system, a residential behavioral center, and non-profit organizations. Her work on adolescent mental health and wellness has been presented at numerous professional conferences.

Kristin Canavera, PhD, MBE
A pediatric psychologist at Ochsner Hospital for Children, Dr. Canavera provides treatment for children, adolescents, and young adults coping with and adjusting to chronic or life-threatening medical conditions. She has served in several leadership and advocacy roles on institutional and national committees, including co-director of the Fellowship Program in Pediatric Psychology at Ochsner and founder and Chair of the Critical Care Special Interest Group of the Society of Pediatric Psychology.
